The Customs Clearance Executive is responsible for managing import and export customs clearance activities to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant cargo movement. The role involves preparing and verifying clearance documentation, coordinating with customs authorities, shipping lines, and internal teams, and ensuring timely cargo release. This position requires strong knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and clearance platforms, along with effective coordination and problem-solving skills.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in customs clearance (preferably in freight forwarding or logistics).
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS codes, and trade compliance.
  • Familiarity with CargoX, Nafeza, and customs clearance platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Experience using Odoo ERP or similar systems.
  • Experience handling banking and customs payments.
  • Experience coordinating with ports, airports, and shipping lines.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complete import and export customs clearance procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and submit clearance documents (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, B/L) Qualify the customer needs.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, and transport companies for smooth cargo release.
  • Manage ACID / Nafeza registrations and VGM submissions as required.
  • Follow up with customs officers, ports, and airports to resolve clearance issues.
  • Ensure all clearance documentation complies with customs laws and trade regulations.
  • Verify HS codes, tariffs, and duty structures to calculate applicable charges.
  • Stay updated on customs laws, government rules, and clearance procedures.
  • Maintain records of clearance operations and prepare reports for management.
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and documentation teams to ensure smooth cargo handling.
  • Provide clients with updates on cargo status and clearance progress.
  • Communicate with banks and shipping lines for payments, duties, and release orders.
  • Assist in renewing company licenses, permits, and trade-related documents.

  • Provide timely updates on clearance status and cargo release

  • Resolve clearance-related inquiries efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction
